The drama surrounding Donnie Yen’s upcoming action flick “Special Identity” has clearly overshadowed the film itself, what with Vincent Zhao leaving halfway through the shoot. At this point it’ll be a miracle if the movie’s story turns out even semi-coherent, but Yen fans like us are still rooting for the picture.
Unfortunately, Hong Kong movie blog HKTop10 reports that director Tan Bing - who was set to helm “Special Identity” before Clarence Fok stepped in - recently held a press conference at which he badmouthed Donnie Yen. Bing claims that Donnie forced former-producer Jackie Chan off the project back when it was called “The Ultimate Codebreaker.” That said, it’s probably best to take these rumors with a grain of salt: http://www.cityonfire.com/its-donnie-yen-vs-vincent-zhao-in-special-identity/
